Cystic Fibrosis - 2009

This years Cystic Fibrosis Supercruise, held on November 2, 2009, followed the same format as that of last year. The cruise was about 120km travelling up through the hills before finishing at Mussell Pool for a picnic.

The purpose of the cruise is to give the children affected by Cystic Fibrosis (along with their families and/or guardians) a ride in members cars and those taking part really enjoyed the day.

Cruise:
The cruise departed from Burswood SW carpark and travelled up into the hills through Lesmurdie, Kalamunda, the Zig Zags, Mundaring, Stonville, Mt Helena, Chidlows and to Toodyay Road. Berry and O'Brien Roads are a favourite for club members and we wouldn't miss a chance to cruise them. Back onto Toodyay Road and then on to Whiteman Park and the Mussell Pool picnic grounds. About 40 people attended in 21 cars.

Fundraising:
Wheels World kindly donated a set of 4 Yokohama Tyres and a Whiteline Handling Kit which were auctioned via the Club Forum and the Perth-WRX Forum. The total raised for both items was $1750. Attendees to the Supercruise kindly donated $5 per person which raised another $180.

At the December club meeting a cheque for $2,000 was presented to CF representative Geoff Hutchinson. Geoff thanked members for their ongoing support and assured everyone that every little bit helps make life a little easier for those affected by CF.
