This years Club Motorsport competition takes on a slightly different format to last year in that it will be known as the "Wheels World WRX Club Motorsport Championship" and "Associates Cup". There will essentially be two separate competitons though both of them will run concurrently. It will consist of 4 events (as listed below).
Eligibility:
1. To accrue points in the Championship competitors must be current financial members of the Club.
2. The series is divided into two classes and for each round, points will be awarded for both your class and outright position. However, there will be separate awards for each class.
3. The "main" class is the WRX Club Championship (also may be referred to as the WRX or Impreza class) - those eligible are Ordinary financial members (as defined in the Club Constitution) who own and enter a Subaru vehicle eg WRX, WRX STI, Liberty RS/GT, Forester GT/XT.
4. The second class is the "Associates Cup" (also referred to as the Associates class) - those eligible are Associate club members who own and enter a non Subaru vehicle eg Lotus, Porsche, EVO etc.
5. And to further clarify in order to answer questions asked recently about eligibility etc... if an ordinary member happens to enter a non Subaru in any round then points will be accrued in the Associate class. If an Associate member (ie doesn't own a Subaru) enters a Subaru in any round, points will still be accrued in the Associate Class. In other words, points towards the WRX Club Championship class may only be accrued by an Ordinary member driving a Subaru.
Furthermore, points in any class will not be allocated retrospectively for anyone who joins the Club after they have competed in a round...though they will be eligible if they apply to join the Club at the event.
5. Club members will be given initial preference to enter each round. If places remain unfilled close to the event, the organisers may open the event up to non Club members. However, non Club members competing in any round will not be eligible to accrue points in the Championship and their finishing position will be disregarded when points are allocated for that round.
