Herridge Wins 2007 ARC Privateers Title

Herridge Caps Year Off In Fine Style

  • Herridge claims second consecutive privateers title
  • Takes fight up to Toyota and Ford
  • And continues impressing in China
  • Dean Herridge has capped off a sensational year in fine style, the West Australian securing the Privateers trophy in the NEC Australian Rally Championship for the second year running and in the process taking the fight right up to the highly-funded factory teams from Toyota and Ford.

"For the second year running we've been the top placed Privateer and considering the competition we match off against in the Australian Rally Championship that's pretty special for our team from Perth," beamed Herridge.

In his tried and trusted Subaru Impreza WRX STi Herridge, partnered by co-driver Bill Hayes, has held off the might of Ford in the shape of two start-of-the-art Fiesta's during the six Round NEC Australian Rally Championship.

"I'm very proud of the efforts of our entire team, I want to thank each of them for their support this season, and of course a huge round of thanks to all our sponsors and supporters who have helped us achieve this success this year," continued Dean.

At the completion of the sixth and final Round Herridge finished third outright in the points standings behind the dominant factory Toyota outfit.

Adding to his local successes Dean and co-driver Bill have been the stand out newcomers to the highly competitive Chinese National Rally Championship, driving for Subaru Rally Team China in a locally prepared Impreza WRX against a host of local and international rally stars.

At the recent Rally China, a combined Chinese National and Asia-Pacific Rally Championship event, Herridge set aside an early transmission problem to power to a number of stage victories against a raft of international drivers including former Subaru Australia team mate Cody Crocker

"To combine our local success in the Australian Rally Championship with strong outings in the Chinese National Championship has been amazing. To go to China and deliver a team the best results they've ever achieved is a great way to reward the faith they showed in me as a driver. We are again looking to drive for the team next year, which will be great" added Dean.

The team at Maximum Motorsport would like to thank each of their sponsors including Subaru Dealers of WA and SA, Highline Water Tanks, Pirelli Tyres, UD Trucks, Auto H2o Plus, Autronic, Columbia Sportswear, Europcar, TSV, TRS, Sonic Signs, Glasurit, Motorex, Race Clutch, Butler Built and PPG Gearboxes.
